Snow
Waking in the gray morning
It's quiet except the wind and swirling white
Staring for a moment as everything is different
Finding out snow
Has covered the ground
Children play fighting sledding building
Mothers watch with hot cocoa
Fathers shovel and plow the driveways
Schools close to lonely emptiness
Businesses are just as empty
Except the grocery store where people horde
Trucks shove large walls along the street
Trapping cars in their homes
Drivers slow in fear
Hoping they do not become
One of the wrecks they passed
All this comes out of something so small
Water frozen into a tiny crystal
